Amélie Walker, President/CEO
Web Designer & Developer
Amélie, the founder of Castle Builder Design, has been constructing a wide variety of websites since 1997. She manages all projects and specializes in crafting visually compelling yet clear-eyed designs, all the while taming open source software. She sees a successful website as a puzzle solved through the seamless integration of its two vital elements: beauty and function. In her spare time, Amélie is the membership coordinator of Webgrrls NYC and bakes cupcakes.
Melanie Crump
Assistant Web Designer
Melanie came on board in 2010. What she likes most about web design is tapping into creative thinking and problem solving to solve each client’s unique needs. Her aim is to build websites that are both good and good looking: easy to use, easy on the eyes. Off the clock, Melanie enjoys photography and is horribly music-obsessed.
Lisa Giacone
Graphic Designer
Lisa has been working with CBD since 2007. Because her background is in marketing for municipal parks and recreation programs in both print and web-based media, she has a talent for using graphic design to create clear messenging, no matter what the audience. Lisa believes a website should be user-friendly and aesthetically appealing. Apart from design, Lisa is busy—very busy!—raising her two-year-old son, Anthony.
Jennifer Pinkowski
Content Writer/Editor
Jennifer joined Castle Builder in 2010. Her wordsmithery has been honed during her past 13 years as a communications consultant, international journalist and all-levels editor. Her clients have included leading retailers (Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s), major media (New York Times, Time and Cosmopolitan) and prominent nonprofits (Annie E. Casey Foundation and Civic Ventures). Jennifer likes to take long walks in Brooklyn with her lovely son and travel abroad by herself. (Go on, try it!)
Jason Yung
Programmer
Jason signed on with CBD in 2011. He has more than 14 years of experience working with websites, databases and systems for corporations large and small. He believes firmly in creating clear processes and workflows that can be understood by everyone, and in building easy-to-maintain code to support it all. When he is not programming computers, Jason is making music and taking photographs.
